Frequently Asked Questions
Where is HNL located?
HNL offices are located in Philadelphia and Singapore. What is the main use of HNL’s PixieEngine Technology? You tell us. We want to change the way you think of localization of objects both indoors and outdoors. Our technology was developed to be very low cost so that now we can track objects that you would not have otherwise thought of. Certainly many uses exists in hospitals, factories and warehouse settings. However we want to extend these concepts well beyond the typical uses. Anything that can move that you don't want to lose? Often the initial use of our technology starts out with tracking of personnel or packages within a campus environment. Once that significant need is address, other uses come about such as tracking golf carts, bicycles, shuttle buses, people, among many other objects. We can adapt our system to whatever your localization needs may be. Who developed PixieEngine? PixieEngine was developed over many years of research by HNL. It comprises of hardware, embedded software, server side software and mobile allocations. We currently own the patent for this technology. What differentiates HNL from other companies offering localization technology? A number of things actually. Aside from the fact that we have our own localization technology (PixieEngine), we an extensible low-cost technology that can track objects indoors and outdoors. There are very few localization options out there that speak to this particular feature. We do not charge high monthly fees like those charged for GPS services, our batteries are long lasting, and our hardware is relatively small and easy to install. Lastly, our technology can operate infrastructure free so that you can find the lost object even when lost within a basement of a building or in the football field. How can I get in touch with HNL about possibly trying to work out a solution to my problem? Simple! All you need to do is send an email to info@humannetworklabs.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Can the product only be installed in the United States? Our technology will work anywhere in the world. As long as you have Internet access, you can log onto our system to track whatever it is that you want to track. How does the technology work? The technology is very easy to use. First install Spotcasts (access points) around the area that you want to monitor. These will be synchronized to Google Map to provide a reference position in the map. Next, put tags on the objects or people that you want to track. The tag sends signals to the Spotcast, enabling it to find the location of the tag. As the user, all you need to do to find this information is log onto a secure HNL website, or access it with your phone. |
